Ismaili have offloaded Angolan striker Luwamo Garcia, who joined the coastal club in the summer and was kept on the sidelines for the past weeks.
Apart from his status as an outcast, it is understood the Dervishes dispensed with Garcia in order to empty a slot for another foreign player in John Owoeri.
Nigerian hitman Owoeri was instrumental in helping Heartland reach the CAF Champions League final before they lost to eventually champions TP Mazembe.
Owoeri, 23, had spells at Holland's Feyenoord and Enyimba among other clubs throughout his career. He is believed to have been targeted by Ismaili for a while.
Now Nigeria's Ndubuisi Godwin and Moroccan front-man Abdessalam Benjelloun are the only expatriate footballers at Ismaili.
Each Egyptian club are entitled to have no more than three non-Egyptian players at their disposal.
